A few basics about me…

Family, Community, Service

Serving on the Redondo Beach City Council is my way to support all three of these pillars of our life.

My wife Jen is a devoted special education teacher of over 25 years, our boys Aldon and Rolf Ryan are in 3rd grade and 7th grade respectively. I serve our city to preserve our unique and cherished beach community way of life, especially for our future generations.

For me, service is a vital part of giving back to our community that has given so much to us.

I am currently serving on the Board of Education of Redondo Beach Unified School District (elected citywide in 2021), as well as the Board of Education for Southern California Regional Occupational Center (President for unprecedented 2 years in a row).

I also served on Redondo Beach Charter Review Advisory Committee (2022 to 2024, Chairman entire time), leading this critical city committee in much needed updates to our City Charter (our city’s “Constitution”) that have been 100% successfully approved by our voters citywide!

Served as a Redondo Beach Planning Commissioner where I consistently opposed overdevelopment and on multiple occasions I personally helped individual residents overcome their difficulties in navigating city bureaucracy.

Also served on the Redondo Beach Recreation and Parks Commission and have been an avid supporter of maximizing the usability of our limited park spaces and finding increased sources of funding. Keeping the AES powerplant site zoned as park space and seeking more funding to do so is a critical priority for our city.

I am a graduate of the Redondo Beach Citizens Police Academy and an avid supporter of the Redondo Beach Police Foundation.

I was also selected for the honor of serving as the Cubmaster of our local Cub Scout Pack for year and a half until my elected duties demanded more of my time.
